Welcome to Mahoe Bed & Breakfast, an old fashioned character schoolhouse situated on the picturesque Devonport Waterfront with great views plus upmarket amenities. The name Mahoe is of a native plant which is depicted in the stained glass panel above the double doors and the previous owners named their mullet sailing boat Mahoe and this is also featured in the panel. The schoolhouse was originally transported from Huntly - A mining town south of Auckland, about 1.5hrs drive. Mahoe is situated up a driveway in tranquil and peaceful surroundings and is 5 minutes flat waterfront walk to the quaint village of Devonport. Walk along the shell path overlooking the Waitemata Harbour where there is much activity on the harbour and beautiful views of the city and suburbs, take a stroll up the wharf and watch the fishing activities of young and old and when in season, the whitebaiters. The local ferry leaves at 1/2hr intervals for the CBD. This ferry also leaves from Devonport to the many outer islands of the Gulf.
Mahoe B & B consists of both living areas in the main house, a totally self contained apartment, and upstairs Mahoe B & B has 2 spacious bedrooms, 1 double off your own large lounge with 29" TV, tea and coffee making facilities, a jar of home made biscuits & fruit are provided on arrival, one queen bedroom which has a deck with comfortable outdoor furniture with sea views. There is a separate toilet and separate bathroom/toilet. If you like to sleep in then breakfast is not a must - you can choose to have it at your leisure, at one of the many local cafes or even take the ferry to the CBD.
The Apartment plus B & B combine to make a large area which is suitable for pre wedding bridal parties. Also ideal for pre wedding photographs.
The self-contained apartment has its own entrance, dining room, kitchen, laundry, toilet, upstairs queen bedroom with bathroom and lounge with 29" TV/Video with deck and view. Off street parking is available. Initial breakfast provisions supplied.
